Arthur Floyd Todd was born March 22, 1959 in Gettysburg, South Dakota to Doris Ann (Seely) and Elroy Arthur Todd. Growing up, he played trombone in band and jazz band before graduating from Gettysburg High School in 1977. He was married to Georgeann Kay Moore of Tulsa, Oklahoma. They had a daughter, Courtney Michelle Todd, in 1980. Arthur attended Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, Oklahoma. There he obtained his airframe and power-plant licenses while graduating with a specialty in mechanical instrument repair and overhaul avionics. He later continued his education at Victory Bible Institute in Tulsa. Arthur lived in various locations along the coast while pursuing his passions in flying and scuba diving before settling in Mobile, Alabama in 1991. He worked for Singapore Technologies Aerospace, Mobile in maintenance inspection. Arthur met his last love, Amy Elisabeth Doyel in 1997. The two lived in Robertsdale, Alabama and attended Bay Community Church. Art is well remembered by the community for his sense of humor, love of John Wayne movies, continual study of the Bible, and assistance to so many others during times of need. He most enjoyed his regular visits to play with his grandsons, Dylan Emmanual and Henry Isaiah Paynter.

He passed peacefully in his home on July 11, 2012.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Monday, July 16, 2012 at the Gettysburg United Methodist Church with Pastor Jeff Adel leading the service. Following the service, Art will be interred next to his mother at the Gettysburg Cemetery. James Paynter will sing “Paradise” at the graveside. Organist for the funeral service will be Gail Larson and the congregation will sing “All creatures of our God and King” and “My hope is built on nothing Less”. Recorded vocal selections will be “Heaven’s Sweet Forever” and “The words I would Say”. Usher will be Larry Madsen. Casketbearers will be Art’s nephew, Jason, his grandchildren, Dylan and Henry, his brother-in-law, Rau’l, his son-in-law, James, and friends Doug Wager of Mobridge, SD, and Paul Zuber and Steve Boke both of Gettysburg. Honorary bearer will be his cousin Bobby Seely, Jr. of Woodriver, MO.

Art was preceded in death by his mother Doris Todd in 2007.

He is survived by his father Elroy Todd of Gettysburg,; his sweetheart Amy Doyel of Robertsdale; his daughter Courtney (James) Paynter of Bentonville, AR; his sister Marietta (Rau'l) Martinez of Enid, OK; his grandsons Dylan and Henry Paynter of Bentonville; and his nephew Jason Clark of Enid.
